April 2022 Launchable Product Updates

With spring cleaning well underway, Launchable’s developers have been working hard on a number of new features and updates that are guaranteed to add some spring to your step

Great news for those who are on the Mars plan, SAML 2.0 is now available for you! April also brings updated navigation of the Launcable webapp and the option to exclude tests from Launchable subsets. Also, new this month, we have updated the Launchable CLI’s integration for the NUnit console runner which will allow subset requests across multiple DLL’s

SAML 2.0 is Now Supported

SAML 2.0 authentication is now available to organizations on the Mars plan, so users don’t need to set another password! If you would like to enable this feature for your organization, and you're on the Mars plan, contact us to get started. We would be happy to help guide you through the process!

Updated Launchable Navigation

We've updated the navigation of the Launchable webapp to better reflect how our various features fit together. Notably, Trends and Flaky Tests are now grouped under an Insights category.

Enjoy the updated navigation! We are eager to continue expanding with more pages over time, fostering an even more robust user experience.

Option to Exclude New Tests From Subsets

You can now optionally exclude new tests from Launchable subsets by including the --ignore-new-tests option when you request a subset using Launchable subset.

This option is useful if you want to prevent new tests (with unknown execution time) from unintentionally increasing subset test execution time, but it also means that it might take longer for new tests to be recognized (since they were not run in the subset). If you use this option, make sure you continue running all the tests at various points of your workflow.

This feature is available in CLI version 1.39.0 and newer.

Request a Subset Across Multiple DLL’s at Once (NUnit)

We've updated the Launchable CLI's integration for the NUnit console runner to support requesting a subset across multiple DLLs.

You can now pass the output from multiple nunit3-console --explore executions into Launchable subset. This lets you choose the best tests to run across several DLLs instead of requesting a subset for every DLL (which would lead to unnecessary tests being run).

This feature is available in CLI version 1.38.9 and newer.
