Our values

The building blocks of Launchable's culture are our core values. They are our every day guide for the decisions we make and the interactions we have with our clients, our community, and each other.

Play as a team

Great things are achieved by teams. Great teams happen when every person plays their position well and has each other’s back.

Make customers our fans

We are in it for leaving our mark. That begins with making the lives of our customers better, which starts with getting them to fall in love with us.

Be the change you seek

If we find a problem, we don’t wait for the next person to fix it. We roll up our sleeves and fix it.

Be fair & do the right thing

We value human relationships and treating people as we would like to be treated.

Workspace budget

Having a home office means you need good equipment. Get a new workstation on us, and all the tools you could need.

Get sh*t done

Three days a week are “no meeting” days, only focused work. We’re serious. Check out our post on Getting sh*t done.

Rocket Fuel Day

Every 3rd Friday of a month is a day dedicated to ourselves, our community, and/or the world around us. We collectively choose the theme every month and plan an activity for this day. Rocket Fuel Day isn’t just another work day; it’s a day of bonding, refueling and recharging our batteries.

Some example Rocket Fuel Days so far...

Poetry for Neanderthals

January’s Rocket Fuel Day was a card game called Poetry for Neanderthals, which is a game where you describe a complex concept only using one syllable words and have your team mates guess that correctly. This was particularly fun, as English is a second language for many people at Launchable. Yusuke Shibui wound up winning!

After the game, we hung around a while more and talked about The Oatmeal, comics, and tattoos. This was the first time we made the event longer to accomodate for this unstructured chat time, and felt it worked out well in the end.

Hiking by a lake or the ocean

The astronauts around the spacebar had spoken that they wanted to enjoy time outdoors. So we went outside. We found a nearby lake, or went to the ocean and spent some time there, and some reflected on it by writing a haiku.

Draw or paint something

One month, we were asked to draw or paint something. We said that it doesn’t matter what medium we used: an iPad, pencil and paper, our kids' drawing tools--anything. If the weather was nice, we went outside to draw something that caught our attention. Perhaps we asked our family member to model for us. We wanted to draw something that had sentimental value to us.

A key point of Rocket Fuel Day is to go and do something that you won’t normally do yourself, so we encouraged everyone to take some time off from working hours and push ourselves in a new direction.
